More Stories of Dreams Come True
Through Dream in Color, Target celebrates artists, designers and other leaders
in our communities who worked tirelessly to realize their own dreams.
Lillian Raimundi-Ortiz
Lillian was born to Puerto Rican parents and raised in the South Bronx. She’s taken the early lessons of her childhood and infused them into the curriculum at PS 155, where she’s created a home away from home for many underprivileged students. Lillian enjoys spending time with her children and grandson, and also singing in her church’s choir.
Luis Fonsi
Luis has had a decade-long career as a singer and songwriter, performing sold-out shows and selling albums throughout the U.S., Latin America and Europe. The first single off his latest album, Palabras del Silencio, spent 19 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Latin Tracks chart in 2008. Fonsi was born in Puerto Rico and raised in Orlando, FL.
Elizabeth Peña
Elizabeth is one of the most versatile actors in Hollywood today, with a string of critically acclaimed roles both in film and on television. She was raised in New York and grew up with an appreciation for the arts. When she is not working, Elizabeth enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.
Juan Pablo Montoya
Juan Pablo is in his third year on the Sprint Cup circuit with the Target Chip Ganassi Racing team, after starting his career in open-wheel racing. In 2007, he became the first Latino to win in NASCAR’s premier Series and was named Rookie of the Year. Juan Pablo was born in Bogota, Columbia.
Irma Martinez
Celebrity Stylist
“All my work is 100% Hispanic, and so Latina. The food, the music, the folklore, my family, all the things I did as a little girl brought me here. How can I forget that? My education is Hispanic and gave me the strong values to fulfill my dreams.”
Irma Martinez was chosen by Target to be a spokesperson for the Latino community. She now enjoys bringing her fashion and style expertise to a wider audience.
Sami Hayek
Designer
“A dream that I had—and I still have—is to be an explorer. An explorer of my thoughts, an explorer of experiences, an explorer of people and cultures and places. An explorer of problems and how to solve them.”
Sami Hayek’s collection of home designs for Target reflects his love of bright, bold colors and his commitment to sustainable design.

Beth Takekawa

Beth is Executive Director of the Wing Luke Asian Museum in Seattle, a Smithsonian affiliate and the only Asian Pacific American museum in the country. She’s spent more than two decades working in community economic development and sits on several boards and committees nationwide.
Emilio Estéfan
Music Producer
"I think that something so important …music, the arts, fashion…yes, it can happen. When they tell you ‘no,’ that’s when you have to be more persistent. That’s when you have to believe in you. One thing that helped me is that I believed what my mother told me, ‘Every dream can come true. Never stop dreaming."
Emilio Estéfan, winner of numerous Grammy Awards, was one of the first to bring Latin music to mainstream listeners. He and his wife, Gloria, support many philanthropic causes.
India.Arie
Musician
India.Arie's Grammy Award-winning music addresses issues of relationships, self acceptance and society's expectations of women. Though especially poignant to women of color, her messages inspire far wider audiences. Her new album, Testimony: Vol. 2, Love & Politics, arrives in Target stores in February.
